Harold G. “Harry” Ehrike,
Age 66, of Marshfield passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 surrounded by his family at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield. Rev. Daryn Bahn will officiate. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday at the church from 9AM until time of service. A luncheon and celebration of life will follow services at the Viaduct Bar in Marshfield.
Harold was born November 17, 1948 in Marshfield to Frank and Esther (Mathes) Ehrike. He graduated from Stratford High school in 1967. Harold and Arlene Emon were united in marriage July 8, 1967 and later divorced. On February 20, 1999 he was united in marriage to Lois Seehafer, she survives. In his earlier years, Harry worked as a salesman for Radlingers, then owned and operated his own business, H and A's Pitstop in Stratford. Harry later was employed at WIC Building Systems as a plumber for many years.
Harry's hobbies included camping and fishing. He especially enjoyed sitting around the camp fire with family and friends reminiscing. With a PBR in one hand and a grilling tongs in the other, Harry enjoyed all the cooking. Playing sheepshead and cribbage with the local guys was a favorite pastime. Throughout his life he was an avid Viking fan.
Survivors include his wife Lois of Marshfield, eight children: Wendy (Steve) Schallock, Gary (Cindy) Ehrike, Cory (Lindsey Berg) Ehrike, Tony (Bridgett) Ehrike, Roxane (Larry) Hutchins, Johnalee (Mark) Kleifgen, Wendy (Michael) School and Nikki (Mike) Dennee; 13 grandchildren: Kirsten, Gloria, Violet, Amber and Justin Ehrike; Brittany (Shawn) Handke; Nicholas Hansen; Morgan and Markus Kleifgen and Miranda, Caden, Camren and Caleb Dennee; two great-grandchildren: Reece Michael Handke and Baby Handke due in August; his sister Sharon Ehrike and his brother Darrell (Patricia) Ehrike and a sister-in-law Irma Ehrike, along with many nieces and nephews. Harry is further survived by his three legged furry pride and joy, “Peanut” and his four legged camping buddy, “Smokey.”
Harry was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Esther Ehrike and a brother William “Carly” Ehrike.
Honoring his generous wish, the gift of life was shared with many people in need through organ and tissue donation.
