Obituary of Robert John Krohn

Robert J. Krohn, Age 82, of Marshfield passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield. Father Samuel Martin will officiate. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery with full military rites conducted by American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday at the church from 9AM until time of services. Robert was born April 17, 1932 in Marshfield to John and Evelyn (Bores) Krohn. He attended grade school at St. John’s and graduated from Marshfield Senior High. Later he joined the United States Marine Corp in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1957. Robert was united in marriage to Lois Schlafke on August 8, 1963 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield. Sadly, she passed away July 15, 2011. His employment included work at Weinbrenner Shoe Company in Marshfield and later as a truck driver for Land O Lakes in Spencer until his retirement in 1995. His hobbies included visiting the casino and local restaurants with his wife and making cabinets for his home. Robert was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was especially proud of the 28 deer he harvested with his bow. Following the death of his wife, Lois, Robert was forced to learn the art of cooking and in time he became a good cook and baker. Survivors include his brother Jack (Beverly) Krohn of Marshfield along with nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lois and his sister and brother-in-law Shirley (Harvey) Zawicky.
