Joanne J. Swegle Age 78, of Spencer, WI passed away quietly and peacefully at her home while her family gathered around her on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Joanne was under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice. Her family will be planning services that will be held in Illinois at a later date. Information will be posted as it becomes available. Joanne was born on October 18, 1936 in Richmond, IL the daughter of Walter and Gertrude (Young) Huff. She was united in marriage to Darrell Swegle on December 18, 1954 in Richmond, IL. Together Joanne and Darrell moved from Richmond, IL and were residing in Spencer, WI at her time of passing. Her hobbies included fishing and camping. She looked forward to helping with the Huff family picnics every year. Joanne’s greatest passion was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and mother-in-law, and sister. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Darrell Swegle of Spencer; two children: Deborah (Charlie) Simmons of Mayville and Gary (fiancé Laurie Doheny) of Lake Zurich, IL; her grandchildren: Chris (Jolyn) Krohn, Valerie (Lance) Bauer, Michelle (Michael) Sheets, Mike (Nicole) Swegle and a stepdaughter Angela (Chris) Layton; 14 great grandchildren; two brothers: Wally (Betty) Huff of Walworth and Ken (Viola) Huff of Hebron, IL. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, a son Eugene in infancy, four sisters, two brothers and a step-grandson Derek. Assistance provided by Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer.
