Albert Allan Schoolman
Age 71, of Marshfield, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, December 25, 2013 under the wonderful care of the Bethel Center in Arpin with Susan by his bedside.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Marshfield with Pastor Peter Ruggles officiating. Committal service will be held in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Marshfield at a later date. The visitation will be held on Monday at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Military honors conducted by the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield will take place at the church following the service on Tuesday. Acting as pallbearers will be Mark Schoolman, Ryan Schoolman, Chris Ignatowski, Teddy Boe, Terry Wenzel, Bob Bryant and Kevin Teeters. Honorary pallbearers will be Noah and Sam Schoolman, Kayla and Isis Ignatowski.
Albert was born on September 30, 1942 in the township of Unity, the son of Lincoln and Adeline (Heinz ) Schoolman. He attended grade school in Spencer later graduating from Loyal High School in 1961. Albert worked on the family farm until he enlisted in the United State Army in 1964 and was honorably discharged in 1966 as a Military Policeman. On September 20, 1969 he married Susan Wenzel in Marshfield. She survives. He was very proud to work for the United States Postal Service which he later retired from.
Hobbies included all types of bird hunting, deer hunting and trapping and being with family as much as possible. He was very proud and loved being with his grandchildren.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Marshfield.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Susan Schoolman of 44 years; three children: Mark (Jenny) Schoolman of Stillwater, MN, Trina (Christopher “Iggy”) Ignatowski of Arpin and Ryan Schoolman of Springfield, IL; four grandchildren: Noah and Sam Schoolman, Kayla and Isis Ignatowski; two sisters: Emilie Steurer of North Carolina and Marlene (Bob) Bryant of St. Louis and one brother Junior Schoolman of Spencer, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Albert is further survived by his adopted Greyhound companion “Tucker”.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Victor and one sister, Rose.
Memorials in Albert’s name will be donated to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and designated at a later date.
