Christine Grace Mullen,
Age 54, of Marshfield, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield with her mother and siblings gathered around her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3PM on Friday, August 28, 2015 at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, Marshfield. Rev. Nathaniel Kuhn will officiate. Music provided by Suzanne Golden along with members of St. John’s Funeral Choir and Adult Choir. Burial will be in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery in the town of Eau Pleine (Webertown). Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday at the church in Marshfield from 1PM until time of service.
Christine was born December 10, 1960 in Wausau to John Delmar and Grace (Wagner) Mullen. At age 7, she was chosen to be the poster child for the Easter Seals of that year which she was very proud of. After graduating from Stratford High School she attained her associate degree in Supervision from Lakeland College. Christine was first employed as a dispatcher for GTE Corporation then later did seasonal work at Figi’s in Marshfield and offered her time to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. At the time of her passing, Christine was a care provider for her nieces and nephews giving of her time and talents to each of them.
She was a former member of Saint Andrew’s Catholic Church-Rozellville and a current member of Saint John the Baptist-Marshfield.
Hobbies included traveling to Wisconsin’s great historical sites, was excellent at creating beautiful cross stitch pieces with her talented hand and enjoyed pretty wildflowers. Christine had acquired an extensive teapot collection and also memorabilia from “The Wizard of Oz”, loved going to craft shows and finding hidden treasures or just going out dancing. For those that knew and loved her, Christine was a very determined woman who loved life itself and could always provide good sound advice to her siblings as she was the oldest and wisest sister.
Survivors include her mother Grace Mullen; her siblings: John (Judy) Mullen, Lucy (Kelly) Burke, Joe (Dawn) Mullen, Jim (Diane) Mullen, Tammy (Charlie) Winters and Cindy (Ken) Newmier; several nieces and nephews; many great nieces and great nephews along with many other relatives, friends and her two special cats.
She was preceded in death by her father John Delmar Mullen and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
If desired, the family is accepting memorials in Christine’s name to the Wisconsin Easter Seals.
