Cheryl was born on April 9, 1954 in Marshfield, the daughter of Leonard and Claire (Cramer) Hebert. In 1972, she graduated from Spencer High School. She married Peter Bores on August 17, 1974 in Spencer. To this union a daughter Holly was born. The couple later divorced. In 1981, Cheryl graduated from Saint Joseph’s School of Nursing in Marshfield. She started her career as a Registered Nurse with the Intensive Care Unit at Saint Joseph’s Hospital. She later took a position with the Marshfield Clinic in the Cardiology Department. She worked as a Cardiac Nurse Clinician for many years. She took pride in helping countless patients with pacemakers and internal defibrilators lead better lives. On September 29, 1998, Cheryl was united in marriage to Daniel Vehrs. Sadly, her husband passed away January 2, 2010.
Her hobbies included raising dogs, traveling to vacation destinations with warm sandy beaches, spending time at her cabin or maybe just taking a pontoon ride around the lake. Cheryl often commented on her fond memories of spending time as a child with grandma and grandpa up north at their cabin. She loved socializing with family and friends. She enjoyed listening to some good 60’s music, which often reminded her of times when she felt physically at her best. In these last years, she was creatively inspired by watching HGTV in her spare time.
Cheryl was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield.
Survivors include her parents: Leonard and Claire Hebert of Marshfield; her daughter, Holly (Jamie) Dehlinger of Stratford; two step children: Keisha (Jason Bethke) Vehrs of Marshfield and Ben Vehrs of Stevens Point; six grandchildren: Makenna, Gavin, AJ, Derek, Dilan, and Ava; one sister, Judith (Michael) Huber of Edgar, along with many other treasured relatives and friends. Cheryl is also survived by her trusted canine companion Lucy.
If desired, the family will be accepting memorials in Cheryl’s name for charities to be determined later.
