Marion was born on August 17, 1925 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Joseph and Rose (nee Dillinger) Eisner. She attended schools in Milwaukee and Marshfield. She was united in marriage to Lawrence “Shorty” Fischer on September 25, 1945 at Saint John The Baptist Catholic Church in Marshfield. They owned and operated a dairy farm just east of Spencer. After retiring from farming in 1980 they moved into the village of Spencer. Marion and Lawrence celebrated their 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1995. Sadly, Shorty passed away on July 27, 1997.
She was a longtime member of Christ the King Catholic Church and The Christian Mother Society. Marion was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to caring for her family and home.
Her hobbies included fishing, playing cards, spending time at their cabin in Phillips or maybe trying her luck at the one armed bandits at the casino. She loved cooking delicious meals for her family. Marion will be sadly missed by all.
Survivors include her three children: Judie (fiancé Rick Benoit) Sanger of Milwaukee, Larry (Shele) Fischer of Helena, MT and Sharon Fischer of Spencer; her grandchildren: Matt Fischer, Angela Whitten, Kimberly Grob, Jason Hardegen, Scott (Susan) Fischer and Kate Apgar; her great grandchildren: Madison Fischer, Jarod Haddock, Eric Dew, Ellie and Amelia Magnum and Nathaniel Karau; a brother Arnold (Carol) Eisner of Marshfield along with other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was further survived by her loving canine companion “Babe”.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Kenneth and a sister Lucille Schneider.
The family extends their gratitude to Ministry Home Care Hospice, especially nurse Karla, for the wonderful care and support given to Marion and her family.
