Obituary of William Rodney Ress

William "Willy" Rodney Ress Jr, Age 56, of Spencer passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 10th, 2016. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 14th, 2016 at Life Tributes in Spencer from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Willy was born on July 13th, 1959 to William Sr, & Betty (Hamus) Ress. He grew up on the family farm and then graduated from Spencer High School in 1978. After graduating, Willy farmed with his first wife and they had three children (Justin, Shawn, Autumn). After working on various area farms, he then decided to pursue a career in driving semi-truck which he has done for more than 20 years. After meeting Karen Kuehn in 1998, they later had a son (Trent). Willy and Karen united in marriage on October 10, 2003. Willy was known for his sense of humor and big smile. If you knew Willy, you knew he could make anybody laugh. He was a hard worker and had a passion for driving semi truck. He enjoyed spending time with his family/grandchildren and friends, being outside, grilling, camping and going on boat rides. He loved snuggling with his dog, Rusty. Willy is survived by his wife, Karen Ress, his children, Shawn Ress, Autumn (Chris) Krier, Trent Ress, and Nikki (Jesse) Rueth, and his grandchildren, Kolton & Konnor Krier and Jarrett & Jillian Rueth. He is further survived by his mother, Betty Ress, five brothers, and three sisters.
