David Glen Leichtman was born October 2, 1947 in Marshfield to Byron and Arlene (Ingersol) Leichtman. He attended Dorchester Public High School. On June 6, 1970 David married the love of his life and best friend Rosemary “Rosebud” Dukart at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. David, also affectionately known by his loving wife Rosie as “Boobala” was a professional over the road truck driver having logged thousands and thousands of miles. For those who knew him, David was one heck of a conversationalist, always reminding us to be positive, which is how he lived his life, always being positive. He possessed an incredible love for motorcycles and for riding them, spending time with family, taking his grandkids to Fuzzy’s for cheese curds or maybe just playing with them in the leave piles in the fall. David was an avid firearms collector and was very knowledgeable about each piece in his collection. In his earlier years, David also enjoyed deer hunting. He was a member of Saint Peter Lutheran Church. David is survived by his wife Rosemary “Rosie” Leichtman of Dorchester; his children: Jason (Candice) Leichtman of Medford, Shelly Lynn Leichtman of Eau Claire, Melissa Madison of Stetsonville, Tristan (special friend Gabriel) Shire of Milwaukee and Leslie (Joe) Meyer of Wausau; his grandchildren: Gunner “Rona”, Michael, Gracie, Angela, Michelle and Jett; a great granddaughter Brielle; his siblings: Janice (Ricky) Koehler of Abbotsford, Gary (Pam) Leichtman of Dorchester, Mark (special friend Sherri) Leichtman of Dorchester; special friends Duane and Karla Wepfer of Marshfield; his trusted canine companion “Willy” along with other relatives, friends and fellow bikers. He was preceded in death by his parents. David and Rosemary generously donated to Saint Jude’s Hospital in Memphis, TN. because David felt every little boy and girl there deserves a red wagon. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital in memory of David are being accepted by his family. Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
