Grant C. Kluge,
Age 82, of Marshfield, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care of Marshfield.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at St. Albans Ministry Center, 1413 S. Felker Avenue in Marshfield. Deacon Georganne Cusic will officiate. Committal service will take place privately at a later date. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday at the church in Marshfield from 11AM until time of service.
Grant was born on May 1, 1933 in Waukesha, the son of Arthur and Amy (Cornelius) Kluge. He graduated from Waukesha High School. Grant was united in marriage to Suzanne “Susie” Bloor in Delafield in the chapel at St. John’s Military Academy on June 1, 1957. Together they spent almost 59 wonderful years as both best friends and as husband and wife. Grant attended an International Correspondence School and graduated from DeVry University with a degree in Engineering. He was employed by ANR Pipeline Company and worked in communications and electronics for 36 years. Susie and Grant lived in several locations including Delafield, Wales, Stevens Point and Plano Illinois before retiring in Minong, WI. During his time in Minong he served as chairman for the Town of Chicog. Due to health reasons, Susie and Grant later moved to Marshfield and presently were residing there.
His hobbies were many which included: hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing, traveling, camping, woodworking and caning. Grant was an excellent woodworker and could fix almost anything. He built many beautiful works of wood for their log home in Minong. Grant enjoyed baseball and was a little league coach. He had a love for classical music and playing the piano.
Grant is survived by his loving wife Susie Kluge, his children: Raquel “Kelly” (Thomas) Altmann of Marshfield, Phillip (Lisa) Kluge of Slinger and Steven (Denise) Kluge of Hewitt; his five grandchildren Amanda (Marcus) Malyuk of Marshfield, Brianne Kluge of Slinger, Nathan Kluge of Stevens Point, Alyssa Kluge of Hewitt and Kayla Kluge of Hewitt and his three great-grandchildren Eli, Lilly and Halle Malyuk. Grant is further survived by three step-grandchildren Christopher Altmann, Jennifer Altmann-Parker and Katie Altmann, his special canine companion Molly Sue, along with many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Judy Ryan and Evelyn Tappen.
