Obituary of Mae B. Ridderbush

Mae B. Ridderbush, Age 82, of Colby, passed away while surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Her funeral service will be held at 3PM on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford. Vicar Don Bruce will officiate. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday at the church from 1:00PM until time of services. The honor of pallbearer belongs to her grandsons: Mike, Steve and Matthew Johnson, Bryan Beck, Christopher Brecke and Michael Perkins and John Beck as an honorary pallbearer. Private committal services will be held at a later date.
Mae Belle was born on April 9, 1933 in the Town of Holton to Melvin and Leila (Wimer) Bremer. She attended school in Goodrich. Mae was united in marriage to Gene Ridderbush on February 12, 1955 at the Community Evangelical Church in Medford. Mae and Gene owned and operated a dairy farm in rural Abbotsford while raising their five children. Mae was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford.
Her hobbies included word search puzzles, quilting, embroidery, gardening, cooking and canning. She thoroughly enjoyed farming and spending time in the barn with Gene. Upon her retirement from farming she worked at Phillips Plastics in Medford, until 1998. Mae loved spending time with her family especially at family gatherings.
Survivors include her loving husband Gene Ridderbush of Colby, her five children: Dennis Ridderbush of Mobile, AL, Lynn (Dan) Beck of Phillips, Sherry (Dennis) Johnson of Abbotsford, Pamela (Kenneth) Geiger of Dorchester and Lori (Chris) Perkins of Athens; her sister Avis Lebeicki of LaCrosse and a brother Ronald (Marlene) Bremer of Medford. Mae is further survived by 11 grandchildren: Mike Johnson, John Beck, Steve Johnson, Bryan Beck, Christene Burg, Matthew Johnson, Jenny Beck, Christopher Brecke, Stephanie Brecke, Michael Perkins and Brittany Perkins and 10 great-grandchildren Megan and Nicole Beck, Olivia and Garrett Burg, Abby, Stella and Natalie Beck, Madisen Johnson and Austin and Zayla Johnson along with other relatives and friends.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Melvin Bremer Jr. and a daughter-in-law Kris Ridderbush.
