Obituary of Richard D. Rudecki

Richard D. Rudecki, 54, of Spencer, died Thursday, May 24, 2012 in the Critical Care Unit at Ministry Saint Joseph Hospital, Marshfield. His funeral service will be held at 11AM on Monday, May 28, 2012 at Our Fathers House, W770 County Hwy H, Chili. Pastor Ronald H. Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Life Tributes Funeral Home, Spencer from 1:30PM to 5PM and again from 7PM to 9PM. There will be no visitation prior to services on Monday at the church. A private committal will take place at a later date. Richard was born on December 31, 1957 in Laporte, IN, son of Ben and the late Evelyn (Novy) Rudecki.He graduated from Purdue University in West Lafeyette, IN with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture. On August 20, 1983 he married the former Karen Kettelkamp in Indianapolis, IN. From his early start in Indiana, Richard loved and was passionate about dairy farming. From Indiana they moved to Auburndale where Richard was employed with Northstar Select Sires. They relocated to Bloomer later returning to Auburndale. For the next 13 years Richard owned and operated the A.I.Breeding Company which he had since turned over the operation to his sons Michael and Matthew. Today they continue the work their father started. In 2006 Richard and Karen purchased the farm in the Town of Spencer and continued farming operations until Richard’s health would not allow him to do the work which he loved so much. His family and dairy farming were his greatest loves. In his spare time Richard enjoyed some fishing Organizations that Richard was invloved in included the MMPC, Wood County Holstein Association and the Purple Ribbon Calf Sale. Survivors in include his loving wife Karen of Spencer, two sons: Michael and Matthew both of Spencer; his father Ben Rudecki of Walkerton, IN; three brothers: Randy (Beth) Rudecki of Austinburg, Ohio; Michael (Susan) Rudecki of Walkerton, IN; Robert (Sheree) Rudecki of Walkerton, IN; two sisters: Mary (Tom) Macigewski of Buchanan, MI; Vicky (Tim) Krohn of Walkerton, IN; a father-in-law Donald Kettelkamp of Chapel Hill, NC; also survived by many other relatives and friends.
