Ralph J. Fischer
Age 89, of Colby, formerly of Spencer, passed away Tuesday morning, July 10, 2012 at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital with his family by his side.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 AM, Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Christ The King Catholic Church, Spencer. Burial will follow at West Spencer Cemetery in the town of Sherman, Clark County with military rites conducted by the Stratford VFW Post 6352. His family will receive relatives and friends from 8:30AM until the time of services all at the church in Spencer

Ralph was born July 8, 1923, in Spencer, Wisconsin to the late Victor and Frances (Grossbier) Fischer. Ralph proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Bauer on June 11, 1947 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Spencer. Sadly Dorothy passed away July 2, 1973. On April 12, 1980 Ralph was united in marriage to Leona Schoenherr at Christ The King Catholic Church. The couple resided in Spencer.
Prior to his retirement Ralph farmed and worked in the maintenance Department at Land O Lakes, Spencer. His hobbies included fishing and hunting, reading western novels and listening to the old “good” country music of the past and “shootin the bull” with family and friends. Ralph was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Stratford VFW Post 6352 and the Loyal American Legion Post 175.
Ralph is lovingly survived by his wife, Leona of Stratford; six children, Ronald (Diane) Fischer of Winter; Fred (Joyce) Fischer of Marshfield, Joan (Paul) Hopperdietzel of Unity; Mark (Vicki) Fischer of Colby; Mary (Jeff) Zahn of Spencer; and Cindy (Mike) Andres of Marshfield. Six step-children, Jeanette Schoenherr of Stratford; Carol (Jay) Dalton of California; Diana (Don) Churdimsky of Texas; Terry (Charlotte) Schoenherr of Stratford; Tom (Nancy) Schoenherr of Stratford; Fred (Tina) Schoenherr of Colorado. Ralph is further survived by 16 grandchildren: Michelle, Tracy, Reyne, , Kevin, Paul, Jeff, Scott, Craig, Cory, Kurt, Shane, Ryan, Adam, Justin, Jedadiah, and Travis; 14 great grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; 14 step great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Ralph was preceded in death by, his parents; step-son: Ted Schoenherr; three brothers: Lawrence, Victor and Reuben; five sisters: Marion Dick, Bernice Murphy, Margaret Pankratz, Delores Bohman, and Dorothy Smith.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered in Ralph’s name to either the Stratford VFW Post 6352 or Loyal American Legion Post 175.
