William F. Marquardt, Sr.
Age 85, of Stratford, passed away Friday evening, August 24, 2012 at the home of his daughter, Helen, with his children at his side and under the tender care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
In keeping with William's wishes, his family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
Willliam was born October 27, 1926 in Illinois, son of the late Heinrich and Minna (Henze) Marquardt. On March 1, 1952, William married the former Barbara Jean Carpenter. William was employed as a mechanic until he retired. Upon retiring he traveled in the winter months with his wife, Barbara.
William served in WWII and was a member of the VFW Post 2227.
He is survived by his three children: Clyde, Kurt, and Helen; one sister: Dorothy. William is further survived by his grandchildren: Brittney, Dakota, Brooke, Amanda, Mark, Steve, David, Andrew, Amanda, Alix, Barb, Tina, Steph, John, Jake, Lynn, Lana, Billy, Travis, Brandi, Mike, and Shawn, and several great grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Barbara; daughters: Diana and Katherine; a son: William; four brothers: Rudy, Eric, Warner, and Henry; and one sister: Johanna.
William’s family would like to give a big thanks to his grandchildren that helped care for him: Brittney, Dakota, and Brooke, and to those that were there when we needed them: Mark, Steven, David, Stephanie, and Barbara.
