Obituary of Edmund J. Gilmore

Edmund J. Gilmore Age 83 years, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully with his children by his side in the Palliative Care Unit at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital early in the morning on Thursday, September 6, 2012. At the request of Ed, no funeral services will be held. Ed was born February 15, 1929 in Rockford, IL, son of the late Thomas and Ruth (Perry) Gilmore, Sr. Ed was raised in Dekalb, IL and graduated from Dekalb Township High School. He had numerous jobs including working for the editor of the Dekalb Chronicle Newspaper, The Watchtower Bible and Track Society in New York, a monument engraver for Marshfield Monument, Marshfield Bus Service, and a self-employed painter. His hobbies included gardening, biking and walking. Ed possessed a strong work ethic throughout his life. His grandchildren were the love of his life. Ed was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Marshfield. He is lovingly survived by his children: Heather (Rodney) Woald and their children: Javon, Kobe and Nahla Woald all of Marshfield; Matthew (Karrie) Gilmore and their children Kylie and Mason Gilmore all of Granton; his brothers: Perry (Doris) Gilmore of Dekalb, IL; Richard (Millie) Gilmore of Elgin,IL and Thomas (Sharon) Gilmore, Jr. of Winterville, NC; his sister Lois (Lyle) Reynolds of Carmel, CA along with many other relatives and friends. Ed was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother Marjorie J. Gilmore. His children wish to thank the staff in the MICU and the Palliative Care Unit at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital for the compassion and care shown to their father. Life Tributes Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Spencer is assisting the family.
