Obituary of DuWayne Sauter

DuWayne A. Sauter, Age 80, of Edgar, passed away on Saturday evening, October 6, 2012, at Mount View Care Center in Wausau under the tender care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Service A Funeral Mass will take place at 6PM on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgar. The Rev. Robert Streveler will officiate. Military honors will be conducted at the church following the services by the Edgar VFW Post 10187. A private committal will take place at a later date. His family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday at the church in Edgar from 4PM until time of services. Acting as his pallbearers will be nephews: Randy, David, Danny and Billy Sauter. Life Tributes Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Spencer is assisting DuWayne’s family. DuWayne was born January 5, 1932 in Dorchester, son of the late Marty and Leona (Muelbech) Sauter. He attended both Edgar Public School and Edgar High School. On May 16, 1978, DuWayne married the former Mary Schilling in Rhinelander. She survives. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from which he was honorably discharged. His working career included taking care of his father’s tavern business known as “Marty’s Bar” located on Highway 29, working at a piston ring manufacturing facility in Wausau and as a pipefitter in Milwaukee for a period of time. . He was a member of both Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church and Edgar VFW Post # 10187. His hobbies included deer hunting and fishing and being an all-around outdoorsman. Survivors include his loving wife Mary of Edgar, his mother Leona of Edgar; one sister Sharon (Joseph) Marzynski of Wausau; two brothers: Dale (Jeannie) Sauter of Edgar and Jimmy (Barbara) Sauter of East Helena, MT; his nieces and nephews: Dawn Rowe of Milwaukee; Randy (Theresa) Sauter of Marathon; Danny (Michelle) Sauter of Marathon; Billie (Amy) Sauter of Marathon; David (Robin) Sauter of Athens; Russell (Nancy) Sauter of CA; Stormy Sauter of Helena, MT; Kenneth Kroll of Mitchell, NE; Sharon Kroll of Wausau; Anthony Schilling of Onalaska; Joseph Schilling of Edgar; Melissa (Andrew) Burnet of Wausau; Randy Schilling of Wausau; Lori (Jason) Markett of Marathon; one brother-in-law John Schilling of Onalaska along with many other relatives and friends.
