Obituary of Bertha Lucille Louise Schauer

Bertha Lucille Louise Schauer,
Age 96, of Spencer, a baptized child of God had gone to her reserved place in Heaven on Monday evening, October 8, 2012 from her residence under the tender care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Her funeral Service will be at 11AM on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. The Rev. David DePaoli will officiate. Burial will be in North Green Grove Cemetery in Curtiss. Visitation will take place on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 4PM until 7PM at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer and on Saturday at the church in Spencer from 10AM until time of services. Acting as her pallbearers will be Adam Freimund, Gerald Krueger, Steve Freimund, Brent Peterson, Gary Schraufnagel and Pastor Caleb Schauer. Honorary pallbearers will be Marty Winegarden, John De Koning, Josh Mohr and Scott Roelfs.
Bertha was born December 27, 1915 in the Town of Colby to the late Otto and Louise (Schumann) Dins. She attended Colby Public School and graduated from Colby High School. On August 24, 1939 she married Walter J. Schauer at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. Sadly, Walter passed away November 30, 1989. Bertha was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker.
Her hobbies included baking, crocheting, making both beautiful afghans and hand embroidery items and playing cards with friends. She was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a past president of The Ladies Aid several times over and taught Sunday school for seven years.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Pastor Kenneth (Sandi) Schauer of Republic, WA; Ardis (David) Freimund of Spencer; Marion (Robert) Haas of Unity; Warren Schauer of Escanaba, MI; her grandchildren: Stacy (John) De Koning; Pastor Caleb (Melanie) Schauer; Tabitha (Scott) Roelfs; Steven (Steph) Freimund; Heather (Josh) Mohr; Kari (Gary) Schraufnagel; Kimberly Haas; Kandace (Brent) Peterson; Kylie (Marty) Winegarden and 19 great grandchildren.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one granddaughter, Renee Freimund, three brothers and two sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bertha’s name are being accepted to Trinity Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
