Roger E. Schlichting,
Age 54, of Rib Falls, passed away on Thursday evening, October 11, 2012 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
In keeping with his wishes, Roger’s family will celebrate his life by receiving relatives and friends at the Rib Falls Town Hall, 1744 County Road S, Township of Rib Falls on Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 2PM until 7PM. The family will hold a private committal service for Roger at a later date.

Roger was born October 17, 1957 in Waukesha, the son of Douglas and Mildred (Wendtland) Schlichting. He graduated from Edgar High School. On February 2, 1979 he married the former Karen J. Casper. Roger was a professional over the road truck driver as well as an owner/operator. He had a passion for the road and driving his semi-tractor.
His hobbies included going to Minocqua for ice fishing, working on and tinkering with vehicles with his sons, and spending time with his grandkids. His family was his most valuable and most precious possession.
Survivors include his loving wife Karen of Rib Falls; his father Douglas (Gloria) Schlichting of Minocqua; three sons: Timothy (Michelle) Schlichting of Merrill, Todd (special friend Tracy) Schlichting of Merrill and Andrew Schlichting of Rib Falls; his grandchildren: Caitlyn, Anthony, Ashley, Haylee, Erika, Tucker and Ramsey; one sister Shirley (Daniel) Rosien of Edgar; two brothers: Greg (Ellie) Schlichting of Glendale and Robert (Karen) Schlichting of Athens. Roger is further survived by his cousin and best friend Larry Wendtland of Edgar; his three companion dogs: the late Abigail, Buddy and Norman along with many other relatives and good friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his mother Mildred.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Roger’s name are being accepted by his family.
