Rita M. Roggenbauer
Age 84, of Stratford, passed away Tuesday morning, December 18, 2012 at Golden Living Center-Three Oaks in Marshfield under the tender care of Asera Care Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stratford, The Rev. John Robert Alphonse will officiate. Music will be provided by the St. Joseph Resurrection Choir. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery in the town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County. Acting as her pallbearers will be Steven and Karl Kann, Dennis Patrick, Earl and Robert Joswiak and Peter Weber. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church in Stratford from 8:30AM until time of services.

Rita was born in Marshfield on December 20, 1927, daughter of the late Edward and Bertha (Kraus) Kann. Rita was baptised at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, Marshfield. Six months later she and her family moved to Stratford. Rita attended St. Joseph's Parochial School in Stratford later graduating from Stratford High School in 1945. After graduation she moved to Milwaukee and was employed at Allis Chalmers for a period of time. After returning to the area she married Clarence "Rocky"Roggenbauer on June 10, 1950 at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford. He survives. Along with being a wife, mother and homemaker, Rita and her husband Clarence farmed and operated a mink farm in the area. Rita was a longtime member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church and St. Joseph’s PCCW. Hobbies included reading, shopping, playing cards with family and friends and solving crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her husband Rocky of Stratford; her four children: John “Rocky” Roggenbauer of Stratford, Richard (Sandra) Roggenbauer of Stratford, Patricia (Harold) Olson of Stratford and Ann Schultz of Stratford; her six grandchildren: Sarah Cabanski, Cody Roggenbauer, James (Christine) Olson, Erin (Brian) Pankratz, Jacob and Theresa Schultz; three great grandchildren: Aiden and Trevor Pankratz and Darcie Olson. Rita is further survived by one sister: Bernice Weber of Stratford and two sister-in-laws: Rachel Kann of Stratford and Alvera Kann of Wisconsin Rapids along with many other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Vernon, William, Gordon and James; two sisters: Pearl Junemann and Mercedes Krause.
Rita’s family extends a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Golden Living Center-Three Oaks in Marshfield for all the care and support shown to their mother and to Asera Care Hospice for their assistance during mother’s final days.
