Daniel J. Geiger,
Age 58, of Dorchester, passed away Friday, January 25, 2013 in the town of Mayville in Clark County.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11AM on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Saint Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester. Rev. Daniel Hackel will officiate. Burial will follow in Dorchester Cemetery. His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday at the church in Dorchester from 9AM until time of services. Serving as his pallbearers will be his brothers: John, Jim, Steve and Kurt Geiger.

Dan was born December 12, 1954 in Medford to Norbert and Geraldine (Beyer) Geiger. He attended both St. Louis Parochial School and Colby High School. After high school he worked at his father Norbert’s trucking business driving semi. He later became a owner/operator in his own trucking operation. On December 14, 1974 he married the former Shelby Kalepp. They later divorced. He continued driving semi for a time and later worked assembling and maintaining huge pipelines. .
His hobbies included fishing, gardening, growing his apples trees and coin collecting.
He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan never missing a game and always calling his mother, Gerry, when the Packers played to cheer them and his mother on.
Dan was a member of the Laborer's International Union of North America Local 268.
Survivors include his son John (Denise) Geiger of Chetek; his parents: Norb and Gerry Geiger of Dorchester; his siblings: John (Elfriede) Geiger of Colorado Springs, CO; James (Charlene) Geiger of Holcombe; Steve Geiger of Peoria, AZ; Kathleen (Dennis) Reynolds of Dorchester; Sandra (Dave) Behnke of Dorchester; Kurt (Jennifer) Geiger of Potter and Pamela (Kirk) Kalepp of Dorchester; his grandchildren: Zachary, Kolton and Kaylee. Dan is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and one brother Timothy at birth.
