Obituary of Margaret Pichler

Margaret “Marge” Pichler
Age 93, of Marshfield passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 at House of the Dove Marshfield with her family by her side and under the tender care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
A public visitation for family and friends will be held at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer on Sunday, February 3, 2013 from 4PM until 8PM. A private family service will take place at a later date. Her burial will be in West Spencer Cemetery, in the town of Sherman, Clark County. Serving as her pallbearers will be Christopher Weidman, Chad Pichler, Michael Kroening, Eric Rottscheit, Michael Fischer and Kirklynn Daniels.
Marge was born December 18, 1919 in Baxter Springs, Kansas, daughter of the late William and Chloe Allen. She grew up in Kansas, Nevada, and Missouri. Marge worked in her mother’s nursing home and hospital for five years giving compassion to all. Upon graduation from Columbus High School she attended and graduated in 1939 from St. Johns School of Nursing in Joplin, Missouri, the same school of nursing her mother attended.
One evening after working her shift at the hospital, Margaret and some of her friends went to a USO dance at Camp Crowder, Joplin, Missouri where she met Walter William Pichler, it was love across the dance floor and they married July 3, 1941. After Walter was discharged, they moved to rural Wisconsin to farm.
During their years of farming they started The Spencer Second Hand Store, where Jensen Motors is now located. After selling the land to Jensen’s, Walter and Marge started Wedge Acres Resale on Eagle Road. After 30 years they sold the farm and moved to Buse Street in Spencer. After Walter passed away in 1998, Marge moved to Marshfield to be near her children where she resided for seven years at the Marshfield Care Center before entering the House of The Dove.
Her hobbies included antique doll collecting, sewing, embroidery, reading and fishing. She enjoyed baking delicious homemade breads and desserts.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Pichler of Marshfield and Mary (Ken) Kademan of Marshfield; two sons, John (Laura) Pichler of Marshfield; and Robert (Donna) Pichler of Fort Atkinson. Marge is further survived by a sister; Bonnie Beam of Denton, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter, one daughter Nancy Mondloch, two brothers: Jack and Richard Allen and one sister Jane Kautch.
Marge’s children wish to thank her Doctors of many years; Dr. Espada, Dr. Mennen and Dr. Okon and the wonderful angels at the House of the Dove.
