Kenneth K. Kay
Age 59, of Colby, died Monday, March 4, 2013 in the emergency department at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
A funeral service will be held at 3PM on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer. Rev. Mark Krueger will officiate. Private committal services will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home from 12:30PM until time of services.
Kenneth was born September 24, 1953 in Hartford, Wisconsin, the son of Kenneth and Anne (Kohler) Kay. He attended grade school in Hartford until age 10 when Ken’s family moved to Marshfield later graduating from Marshfield High School. He was united in marriage to Theresa Ann Christensen in Las Vegas on April 18, 1990. Together Theresa and Kenneth raised four wonderful children. Farming Was Ken’s passion and it was his life. He and Theresa owned and operated a dairy farm in Colby.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Theresa, of Colby; his children: Brandon Kay of Irving, Texas; Shannon (Deanna) Kay of Wausau; Bridgett (Josh) Gawlik of St. Paul, MN and Terese Kay of Colby; six grandchildren: Heather, Brett, Cassandra, Savannah, Harper and Gavin. Kenneth is further survived by five sisters: Sandra Sternweis of Madison; Pamela Kay of Menominee; Cindy (Tim) Egger of Galt, CA; Terese Kay of Mt. Horeb; Fran (Jim) Daniel of Marshfield; two brothers: Keith (Mary) Kay of Marshfield and Kurt Kay of Pittsville along with many other nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and his two companion dog’s: Emily and Dozer.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Kay; his father-in-law Glen Christensen; a daughter Katie Kay and a sister Nancy Moen.
A memorial in Ken’s name will be established at a later date.
