Angeline C. Degnitz
Age 87, of the Town of Spencer, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Golden Living Center-Three Oaks in Marshfield with family at her bedside and under the care of Asera Hospice Care.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30PM on Wednesday. March 20, 2013, at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer. Rev. Eric Berns will officiate. Burial will take place on Thursday in West Spencer Cemetery in the town of Sherman, Clark County. Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home in Spencer from 3:00PM until time of services.
Angeline was born November 16, 1925 in Marshfield, daughter of the late Theodore and Anna (Thorne) Markowski. After graduating from Marshfield High School Angie helped out on her parents farm. On July 30, 1945 Angie married Alvin E. Degnitz in the chapel at Saint John The Baptist Catholic Church in Marshfield. Sadly, he passed away November 23, 1991. Angie was a devoted wife and mother. She remained a homemaker until her children were older then was employed at Weyerhaeuser of Marshfield and The Store gas station of Spencer.
Hobbies included working in her flower beds, feeding the birds, cross-stitching and reading. Angie loved fishing at either Potato Lake or Amacoy Lake and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church, Spencer.
Survivors include her children: Carol (John) Groff of Amery; Sue (Richard) Sinette of Marshfield, Pat (DuWayne) Fravert of Marshfield; Nancy (Bob) Northup of Marshfield; Kathy (Sandy) Edwards of Euless, TX; 12 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Angeline is further survived by a special son-in-law Bill Meixner of Stratford and a sister-in-law Laona Degnitz of Wisconsin Rapids along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Angeline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alvin, a daughter Jean Meixner, a granddaughter Ann Marie Sinette, a grandson Kevin Koeshall, two brothers: Jacob and William and a longtime companion, her cat “Snoopy”
