Isabelle was born in 1921 in the Town of Sherman, Clark County, a daughter of the late Emil and Esther (Rusch) Buse. She attended Spencer Elementary School and graduated from Spencer High School. On September 2, 1939, she married Arnold Bruesewitz at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. Sadly, Arnold passed away March 25, 2006.
Her hobbies included reading, doing crossword and picture puzzles, tending to her small flower garden, feeding the birds and playing cards. To her family, her church family and those that truly knew Isabelle, she was a dedicated homemaker, a woman of great and unshakeable faith, and profoundly passionate about playing her organ and composing both song and lyric. She was the Trinity Lutheran Church organist for 57 years. Also notable was the fact that Isabelle composed the “Centennial Song” for the Village of Spencer when they celebrated its 100th Year Anniversary in 1974.
Survivors include her two children: Mryna (Verlyn) Schwantes of Mosinee and James (Jean) Bruesewitz of Danville, CA; four grandsons; 2 great grandchildren; and five step grandchildren; one brother Wilbur (Delores) Buse of Spencer; two sisters: Rhoda Pengelly of Oshkosh and Audrey (Chuck) Sautner of Racine along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arnold and one sister Bernice Kuehmichel.
In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting memorials in Isabelle’s name to either Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer or Spencer Community Ambulance Service.
