Earl H. Boss
Age 97, of Colby, passed away June 12, 2013 at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford. The Rev. Dr. Gary G. Paul will officiate. Committal services will follow in Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday at the church in Abbotsford from 9AM until time of services.

Earl was born September 8, 1915 in the Town of Holton, Marathon County, the son of the late Walter and Edna (Glenzer) Boss. He attended Abbotsford Elementary School and graduated from Abbotsford High School. Earl was united in marriage to Lorrain Hanson on November 20, 1941. Sadly, she passed away on January 13, 1975. Earl later married Dorothy Koehler on June 5, 1982 at Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford. She survives. Earl owned and operated a dairy farm for many years near Abbotsford until his retirement in 1972.
Hobbies included bowling, fishing, playing sheep head and cribbage. Earl was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved watching the games. He was a long time member of Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Colby; his children: Jack (Cheri) Boss of Maple City, MI; Ron (Olga) Boss of Salt Lake City, UT and Randall (Joyce) Boss of Chesterfield, VA; a step-daughter: Diann (Larry) Empey of Colby; two step-sons: Garry (Connie) Koehler of Marshfield and Rickey (Jan) Koehler of Abbotsford, his sister Ruthie Justice of Lake Tahoe CA, his sister in law Betty Abby of CA. Earl is further survived by his grandchildren: Todd (Amy) Boss of MN; Taryn (Denver) Brunsman of Washington, DC and Carrie (Eric) Olson of Madison; two great grandsons; two great granddaughters; seven step grandchildren; many nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Lorrain; a step granddaughter Pamela; five brothers: a twin brother Ernest, Bob, Vernon, Bernard and Victor; two sisters: Lenore and Violet.
Memorials in Earl’s name are being accepted to Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford.
