Janice was born June 13, 1945 in the town of Wien, the daughter of the late Edwin and Lydia (Werner) Rachu. In those days, her family moved to wherever her dad could find work so her schooling included attending a small country school in the town of Wien, Wausau and Edgar area schools and graduating high school in Athens. On October 28, 1967 she married Larry “Nick” Lipinski at Saint John’s Catholic Church in Edgar. Employment included working at the basket factory in Edgar for many years and later for the Edgar School System as a custodian until her retirement in 2012. Together, Janice and Larry have resided in Edgar from 1967 to the present.
Hobbies included working in her garden, tending her flowers, baking and enjoyed puzzles and playing cards. One her greatest loves was spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Saint Stephen Lutheran Church and volunteered countless hours for church projects and dinners.
Janice is lovingly survived by her husband Larry “Nick” Lipinski of Edgar; her mother Lydia Rachu of Wausau; her children: Kevin (Jenny) Lipinski of Athens; Kelly (Corey) Westfall of Athens; Kory (Ron) Nowacki of Athens and Kasy (Cori) Lipinski of Edgar; 12 grandchildren: Olivia, Carley and Brody Lipinski, Brandon, Heather and Autumn Westfall, Brandon and Hattie Nowacki, Jakob, Kane, Karlin and Delaynie Lipinski; two sisters: June Champagne of Rothschild and Carol Rachu of Wausau; two brothers: Bob (Bev) Rachu of Waupaca and Larry (friend Cindy) Rachu of Amarillo, TX along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edwin Rachu.
The family wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude to staff and to the Aspirus Comfort Care Team for the care and compassion shown to Janice during her stay at Hospice House in Wausau and also to Mom's extended family and many close friends who day after day spent time visiting and sharing thoughts with our mother.
