Obituary of Michelle L. Manthe

Michelle L. Manthe Age 40, of Marshfield, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer from 12noon until 2PM and again from 4PM until 7PM. A time of remembering and sharing thoughts of Michelle by her family and friends will take place at 7PM at the funeral home in Spencer. Those attending are encouraged to share remembrances. Committal services will be held privately at a later date. Michelle was born February 2, 1973 in Marshfield, the daughter of Donald and Twila “Tie” (Evans) Jakobi. She attended both Colby and Spencer Public School. Early on she waitressed at local restaurants including Kris’s Sidewalk Café, Marshfield Café, Melody Gardens and Papagalos all located in Marshfield. Michelle also worked as a manager for Wildwood Regency House in Marshfield On May 5, 2000 she married Dennis Manthe at Faith Lutheran Church in Marshfield. They later divorced. Her hobbies included playing basketball, home decorating and gardening. She enjoyed all kinds of animals including her dogs, cats and horses and listening to all kinds of music including “good” country music. For those who knew Michelle, she was all about her girls. She never missed a night to say a special prayer with each of her daughters. She was described as a kind and caring person who possessed the ability to light up a room when she walked in. Michelle celebrated the theme of “Live, Laugh, Love” to the fullest. Michelle is lovingly survived by her three daughters: Shantel, McKenzie and Sydney Manthe and their father Dennis Manthe all of Marshfield; her life companion Dan Weber and his sons: Tyler Weber and Jordan Weber all of Marshfield; her mother Twila “Tie” Jakobi of Marshfield; four step daughters: Nicole (Dan) Day of Dubuque, IA, Amanda (Larry) Ogelsby of Dubuque, IA, Katherine (Trent) Meyer of Blenker and Jacki (Joe) Arnold of Oshkosh; her siblings: Gary (Barb) Jakobi of Marathon, Tammy (Roger) Vanderhoof of Unity, Gayle Jakobi of Colby, Donald (Wendy) Jakobi, Jr. of Colby, Chris (Kenny) Hintz of Stevens Point, Darnel Jakobi of Unity, Daryl (Amy) Jakobi of Riplinger, Denise (Jeff) Rucker of Spencer and Scott (Chris) Jakobi of Unity along with many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She is further survived by a special group of friends: Dixie, Dick, Lahoma, Gigs, Mike, Linda, Ervin, Bill, Jane and many others who loved sitting around listening to Yogi play the stump fiddle and by her two special cats: Cali Sue and Rosey. She was preceded in death by her father Donald , a sister Dawn Marie and a her longtime canine companion, her Pomeranian “Sheldon” The family is accepting memorials in Michelle’s name for her daughter’s education fund.
