Norman M. Kasper, age 87, of Spencer, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. He was born on March 22, 1926 in Marshfield, the son of the late Harvey and Lavonie (Pleius) Kasper. Norman was raised on a dairy farm in Colby and graduated from Colby High School in 1944. He then served two years in the U.S. Army during WWII in Europe. After returning home, Norman married Carol Fravert on June 10, 1950 at Spencer United Methodist Church, and they resided in Spencer for their entire marriage. Norman is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Carol Kasper; children: Jane (Gregory Alexander) Kasper, Julie (Corey) Beyreis, and Glen (Pam) Kasper; six grandchildren: Patrick (Brooke) Krause, Daniel (fiancé Sarah Reis) Krause, Katie (Justin) Reinwand, and Michael Krause; Brandon Kasper and Astin Kasper; great grandchildren: Jaela and Khiah Krause, Rayna Reinwand; and sister-in-law, Darlene Kasper. He was preceded in death by his brother, Vernon Kasper and son-in-law, Steve Krause. The memorial service for Norman will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Spencer United Methodist Church, 108 Burnett Street in Spencer. Pastor Daniel Kim will be officiating the service. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Full military rites conducted by Colby VFW Post 2227 will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Spencer United Methodist Church are appreciated.
