Leland J. Dietsche Age 73, of Spencer, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013 at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield with his wife and family at his bedside. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer. Rev. Samuel Martin will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow in West Spencer Cemetery in the Town of Sherman, Clark County. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4PM until 8PM at Christ The King Catholic Church in Spencer and again on Thursday at the church from 10AM until time of services. A Parish Rosary Service will be held at 7PM on Wednesday evening at the church. Acting as pallbearers will be his son: Scott Dietsche; son-in-law: Joey Hanneman; nephews: Rick Dietsche; Kerry Dietsche & Jim Dietsche and a great nephew Zach Kauth. He was born March 31, 1940 in Marshfield, son of the late Frank and Erma (Nonnemacher) Dietsche. LeLand attended Griffith Country School and Loyal High School. He entered the United States Army and trained at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri then was later stationed in Germany for two years. After his honorable discharge he returned to the area and married Bonnie Schecklman on June 24, 1967 at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. She survives. Early on, LeLand worked on the family farm and was employed at Wick Building Systems/Artcraft Division in Spencer. After that he began working for his brother Marvin at Dietsche's Dairy where he was the “Jack Of All Trades” able to fix and repair anything on the farm. He also drove a milk truck for Dietsche's Dairy up until his health would not allow. His hobbies included watching the Packers and NASCAR racing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and giving them all rides in “Grandpa’s Milk Truck”. Leland was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Bonnie Dietsche of Spencer; his children: Scott (Niki) Dietsche of Marshfield, Tammy (Larry) Kleinschmidt of Marshfield, Bryan (friend Michelle) Dietsche of Charlestown, IN, Eric (friend Liz) Dietsche of Westboro, Nicole (Joey) Hanneman of Appleton and Joel (Christy) Dietsche of Loyal; his grandchildren: Cheyenne, Alyvia, Emilee, Hayden, Montana, Tanner, Maveric, Samatha, Alexander, Kayden, Parker and Matthew; three brothers: Robert (Barbara) Dietsche of Lena, Gerald (Lois) Dietsche of Milwaukee, Marvin (Kathy) Dietsche of Spencer and one sister: Dorothy Dietsche of Spencer along with many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Michael Anthony Dietsche and one grandson Michael Anthony Scott Dietsche; his mother-in-law Anita Schecklman and his brother-in-law Richard Schecklman Arrangements are entrusted to Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer.
