Margie A. Rose, 75, of Greenwood, formerly of Spencer, passed away on the evening of Thursday, November 24, 2011 at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital.
Her memorial service will take place at 7:00PM on Monday, November 28, 2011 at Life Tributes Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Spencer. The Rev. James J. Logan will preside. Friends may call on Monday at the funeral home from 5:00PM until time of services. Committal services will take place privately at West Spencer Cemetery in the town of Sherman.
Margie was born November 7, 1936 in Chicago. IL, daughter of the late Hugo and Ann (Sabyljak) Martin. She was united in marriage to Donald Rose on October 2, 1954 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bakerville. They resided in the Marshfield and Lindsey area later moving to Spencer in 1957. Margie was employed at Land O Lakes in Spencer for 35 years. After retirement, Margie and Donald moved to the Mead Lake area in Clark County.
Her hobbies included playing cards, working in her flower garden, keeping her bird feeders filled and crafting. She enjoyed listening to “old” county music and being with her family and friends. To those that knew her, Margie was the perfect “second mom” that everyone loved having in their lives. She was a longtime member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer.
Survivors include her loving husband Donald of Greenwood, five sisters: Mary Kilty of Athens; Berdi (Duane) Rose of Greenwood, Helen (Ron) Beaver of Milwaukee; Barbara (Jack) Mechelke of Loyal; Theresa (Arlie) Schwantes of Marshfield and one brother, Dan (Chari) Martin of Spooner. Margie is further survived by two brothers-in-law: Joseph (Fritz) Pernsteiner of Black River Falls and John Schiferl of Redmond, WA and two sisters-in-law: Mary Ann (Roger) Bymers of Spencer and Janet Rose of North Carolina along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved brother Joseph Martin, a longtime companion and friend, her dog Spudze.
