Karen was born on November 21, 1949 in Marshfield, the daughter of Virgil and Shirley (Wry) Hebert. She married John A. Yonker on August 26, 1967 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spencer. To this union three children were born and raised. Karen and John later divorced. Karen started her employment in 1981 at Marshfield Clinic in the pre op and health screening unit assisting patients for over 36 years.
One of Karen’s greatest joys was her dedicated work in providing medical foster care for disabled children with special needs. For those that knew her, Karen was all about caregiving, always putting everyone else first before herself. In her spare time, Karen loved to spend time doing some shopping therapy.
She was a member of the New Covenant Group, a religious singing group that shared its members time and talents with churches and residents of local nursing homes and other related groups in the area.
Survivors include her mother Shirley Hebert of Spencer; three children: Kelly Taylor of Marshfield, Sam Yonker of Marshfield and Messeana Jorgensen of Wayzata, MN; her special partner Rod Parkinson of Vesper; a former son-in-law Terry Taylor of Marshfield. Karen is further survived by her grandchildren: Nathan (fiance Alex “Shorty” Heiting) Taylor and Dillon Taylor; a brother Dennis Hebert of Loyal; her trusted canine companion “Max” along with other relatives, friends and co-workers.
