Margaret M. Zopfi
Age 83, of Marshfield, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer from 4PM until 8PM for a time of sharing memories and celebrating Margaret’s life. Her family members will conduct a private committal service at a later date.
Margaret was born January 19, 1933 in Marshfield, the daughter of Lein and Agnes (Straub) Knebel. She attended grade school at Green Valley, a rural country school and graduated from Auburndale Union Free High School. She was united in marriage to Ralph L. Zopfi on December 22, 1951 in Marshfield. He survives. Margaret was first employed at Wisconsin Prepackaged Cheese Company and later as a secretary for Dick Cooper Glass Company until her retirement in 1992.
Her hobbies included making beautiful embroidery with her patient and gifted hands, baking delicious foods for her family, doing word searches and playing Dominos, Crazy Bee or Sequence board games.
Survivors include her husband Ralph of Marshfield, her four children: Evelyn Krall of Marshfield, Gary (Holly) Zopfi of Marshfield, Roger (Wendy) Zopfi of Marshfield, Eugene (Kelly) Zopfi of Marshfield; her four grandsons: Scott Krall, Brandon (Ellie) Zopfi, Christopher (Heather) Zopfi and Mitchell Zopfi; her five granddaughters: Tanya (Ernie) Duerr, Sarah (Matt) Franklin, Holly (Dane Anderson) Zopfi, Samatha (Ben) Will and Megan Zopfi; 13 great grandchildren: Cassandra Zopfi, Maggie (Jordan) Weber, Tate Kanneberg, Brady Duerr, Payton, Brett, Presley and Parker Franklin, Brecken and Bryson Anderson, Ryan and Gracie Will and one additional great grandchild arriving in July and one great great grandchild Wyatt Weber. She is further survived by one sister Ethel Weinfurter of Marshfield along with many other relatives and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son and twin daughters all in infancy, a son-in-law Marvin Krall, five brother-in-laws: Randall Budahn, Richard Weinfurter, Howard Zopfi, Kermit Zopfi and Ted Oelrich and four sister-in-laws: Virjean Oelrich, Virginia Budahn, Mary Zopfi and Gleneale Zopfi.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Margaret’s name are being accepted to House of The Dove in Marshfield.
