David Alvin “Dave” Taylor, 83, of Spencer, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at his residence with his family gathered at his bedside.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery in Bakerville. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer and again on Friday at the church in Spencer from 9:30AM until time of service. A Knights of Columbus Father John Eisen Council #1799 Rosary Service will be held Thursday evening at 6:30PM at the funeral home. The honor of pallbearers belongs to David Verhalen, Jake Verhalen, Brandon Taylor, Derek Taylor, Dustin Nickel, Travis Nickel, Dawson Taylor and Barron Taylor. Honorary pallbearers are Lance Carlson and Landon Taylor.
David was born on March 12, 1933 to Floyd and Mabel (Noyes) Taylor of Irma in Lincoln County Wisconsin. He attended school at Tug Lake. On August 25, 1962 he married Rose Martin at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bakerville. In August of 2016, they would have celebrated 54 years of marriage. Together they raised seven children. Dave was a milk truck driver for a time, worked for Johns Manville and retired from Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
He enjoyed playing cards, hunting and listening to old country music. Dave was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer. He belonged to the Central Wisconsin Concertina Club, the Christ the King Men’s Holy Names Society, and the Knights of Columbus of Marshfield.
Dave is survived by his wife Rose; his seven children: Lori (Mory) Stuebs of Marshfield, Dan (Kris) Taylor of Spencer, Arla (Scott) Carlson of Marshfield, Tim (Cindy) Taylor of Marshfield, Steve (Danise) Taylor of Chili, Ladonna (Dale) Nickel of Neillsville and Jerry (Mary) Taylor of Arpin; 20 grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; his siblings: Dennis Taylor of Bloomington, MN, Scott (Gay) Taylor of Marshfield, Sharon (Robert) Rottscheit of Marshfield and Kathleen (Richard) Shepherd of Marshfield. He is further survived by his aunts Virginia Rousville of Dorchester and Eileen Porter of South Carolina; his sister-in-law’s: Bonnie (Guy) Carpenter of Marshfield, Dolores (Lee) Schmidt of Marshfield, Louise (Joe) Bores of Marshfield, Alice (Bob) Younger of Stratford, Jean (Chester) Multerer of Chili, Rita (Donald) Multerer of Marshfield, Dorothy (Roger) Sanger of Marshfield and Cherrie Martin of Green Bay; his brother-in-law’s: Ron (Marla) Martin of Pittsville and David Martin of Arpin and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Mabel, his in-law’s Ambrose and Anna Martin; brother’s Darrell and sister-in-law Patricia Taylor and Pat Taylor; sister Ilarae Lamsargis; sister-in-law’s Virginia Martin Taylor, Loretta Martin and Carol Martin and brother-in-law’s Donald Martin and Thomas Martin.
The family would like to thank Ministry Home Care Hospice, Dr. Leon and his Medical Assistants Pat and Julie; Dr. Kubica and her staff and 8 North Infusion Center staff for their kind and loving care for the past year of Dave’s life.
