Eugene A. “Gene” Jensen Age 83, of Spencer, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016 at his cabin in the Town of Morse in Ashland County, WI. A memorial service will be held at 6PM on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer. Pastor John Grohs will officiate. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4PM until time of services. His committal service will take place in West Spencer Cemetery in the Town of Sherman, Clark County. Gene was born October 10, 1933 in Spencer, the son of William P. and Agnes C. (Jordan) Jensen. He attended Spencer Elementary School and later graduated from Spencer High School in 1951. Right out of school Gene went to work for his father at Jensen Motors, Inc. located in Spencer and later purchased the business and became owner/dealer. Eugene was married to Betty I. Beyer on June 18, 1954 and to this union three children were born. Gene retired from the dealership in 1994. He was a former member of the Spencer Chamber of Commerce and of the Spencer Jaycees. In 1997, Gene was named Spencer Citizen of The Year. His hobbies included working on motors, all sorts of motors. He was known to stop at an auction or two and pick up more motors to work on. He enjoyed working in his garden and cutting lawn. One of his greatest loves was spending time with family at their cabin. Survivors include his wife Betty Jensen of Spencer, his two children Diane (David) Markworth of Wisconsin Rapids and Mark (Teresa) Jensen of Neillsville, a daughter-in-law Brenda Jensen of Spencer; five grandchildren: Christopher (Wendy) Markworth, Troy (Julie) Jensen, Holly (Allen) Williams, Catherine Jensen and Maren Seefluth; two step grandchildren: Jessica Simm and Brandon White; eight great grandchildren: Grayce, Alayna, Josiah, Elijah, Lilah and Elyanne Jensen and Audrina and Archer Simms; eight great great grandchildren. Eugene is further survived by his sister Joyce Dickerson of Las Vegas along with other relatives, friends and business associates. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Joel and his brother DuWayne. Arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer.
