Obituary of Robert E. Luther

Robert “Bob” E. Luther, 63, Sherwood, passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at his home with his loving friend, companion and care-giver, June at his side. Bob was born July 4, 1953 in Marshfield, WI, to Richard and Frances (Dibble) Luther. He was a 1971 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. Following graduation Bob enlisted and received an Honorable Discharge after four years of service in the United States Navy. Bob was employed by Roger Haske Construction, Rollohome Inc. until the company closed and finally Marshfield Door Systems until the time of his death. Marriages to Karen Nelson Dupee and Lori Katzenberger Holland ended in divorce. Bob was an avid softball player, hunter and fisherman. He loved spending time with family and friends. Bob is survived by June Olson, his loving companion and friend with whom he shared many happy times and memories; sons Steve, Brad and Shane (Katie Yang) Luther, Shannon (Cindy) and Shad (Laura) Dupee; his father, Richard; brothers, Donald (Diane), Ronald (Jackie) Luther; sisters, Linda (Arnold) Schwanebeck, Nancy Kane and Susan (John) Cepress; grandchildren Haylie, Megan, Nick and Silas Dupee, Nick, Bryan Yang and great-grandson Daniel Dupee. Bob is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded by his mother, Frances and nephew, Anthony. A Celebration of Bob's Life will take place at 11AM on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at The Sherwood Lake Shelter House, 1251 Dyer Road, Pittsville, WI. Military rites conducted by the American Legion Palmer-Ritchie-Thomas Post 153 will also be held.
