Obituary of Marie L. Winkel

Marie L. Winkel Age 59, of Hewitt, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, December 13, 2016 at House of The Dove in Marshfield. Her funeral service will be held at 2PM on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield with Rev. Daryn Bahn officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday at the church from 1PM until time of services. The honor of pallbearer will belong to Daniel Holtzheimer, Lester Willner, Lorin Dassow, Ryan Kipp, Ron Bredaman, Daniel Longsdorf and Roy Radcliff. Marie was born on May 4, 1957 in Eau Claire, WI, the daughter of Harold and Madonna (Kauper) Hinrichsen. She was married to Darrel A. Winkel on November 29, 1975 at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. He survives. Early employment included working at Shopko Department Store in Marshfield, a local lumber yard and operating her own at home daycare service. Presently, Marie had been working in both custodial service and food service at Marshfield Senior High School. Marie was active with the Christ Lutheran Church Youth Group and Bible Study and was an avid supporter of the Booster Club at Camp Luther. She possessed such a passion for children. Her hobbies included camping and spending time with family around the campfire, tending to her flower gardens, traveling on bus tours with her husband Darrel, going for walks and simply enjoying simple beautiful things like sunsets, full moons, bullfrogs and butterflies. Survivors include her husband Darrel Winkel of Hewitt, her two daughters: Kimberli Winkel of Rockford, Il and Kristina (Daniel) Holtzheimer of Auburndale; her grandchildren: Samuel, Christian and Laiden; her mother Madonna Hinrichsen of Marshfield; her siblings: Diana Hill of Oregon, Christian “Dan” Hinrichsen of Idaho, Dennis (Theresa) Hinrichsen of Idaho, Jeffery (Marilyn) Hinrichsen of Idaho and Lisa (Gregory) Kipp of Marshfield along with many other relatives and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her father and a granddaughter Angel. If desired, memorials in Marie’s name are being accepted by her family for a charity to be determined later. Her family extends a special “thank you” to the staff at both Ministry Home Hospice and House of The Dove for the compassionate care their loved one received.
