Verna M. Mroczenski
Age 93, of Edgar, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30AM on Friday, January 27, 2017 Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgar with Rev. Thomas Huff officiating. Burial will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday at the church from 9:30AM until time of services. The honor of pallbearer will belong to Joe, Matthew, Robert, Ryan and Amanda Mroczenski and Jeremy Wogernese.
Verna was born March 24, 1923 in Edgar, the daughter of William and Clara (Losselyong) Ellenbecker. After attending Saint John’s Parochial School and graduating from Edgar High School, she worked out as a domestic for a local family in Edgar. On November 25, 1944, she was united in marriage to Michael Anthony Mroczenski at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church. Along with operating a dairy farm with her husband, Verna was a dedicated housewife and mother to their six children. Sadly, her husband Mike passed away July 9, 2012.
She was a longtime member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgar. Her hobbies included cooking and baking, tending to her gardens, solving crossword puzzles, doing beautiful embroidery work and dancing to polka music with her husband Mike.
Survivors include her six children: Carol Schalk of Stratford, Ronald (Mary) Mroczenski of Edgar, Gary (Angela) Mroczenski of Edgar. Thomas (Norma) Mroczenski of Edgar, Charles Mroczenski of Edgar and Cheryl (Robert) Kitzki of Adams; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; a brother-in-law Alphonse (Virgie) Mroczenski of Wausau; four sister-in-laws: Marion Wisnewski of Wausau, Marge (Ed) Stubbe of Wausau, Marcy Ellenbecker of Wausau and Geraldine Juedes of Tomahawk along with many other relatives and friends.
Verna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mike, two grandchildren: Amy and Brian; four sisters: Sister Dorine (FSPA), Sister Dorinda (FSPA), Lucille Shank and Rita Meyer and three brothers: Elmer, Jerome and Urban.
