Frances E. Seefeld,
Age 87, of Colby but formerly of Spencer, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spencer. Pastor Rebekah Tarras will officiate. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery in the town of Brighton. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 from 4PM until 8PM at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer and again on Saturday at the church from 10AM until time of services. Acting as pallbearers will be her nephews: Michael Saulter, Gerald and Terry Marten and her grandsons: David Seefeld, Rob Hanson and Cory House.
Frances was born May 11, 1926 in Loyal to the late Clement Rous and Viola (Robinson) Rous. She later graduated from Loyal High School. On July 8, 1944 she married Paul Seefeld at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Spencer. Sadly, Paul passed away on January 30, 1990. Frances and Paul had owned and operated a dairy farm in rural Spencer until their retirement. After retirement Frances moved to the Village of Spencer. Besides farming she worked at J.C. Penny’s and helped her daughter Paula at P.J’s Plus Apparel located in Spencer.
She loved babysitting for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, traveling to various destinations in the United States. Her hobbies included knitting and sewing, cooking and baking delicious meals for her family. Frances brightened your day with her wonderful smile. She was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
She is lovingly survived by her two daughters: Paula (Dean) Hanson of Loyal and Noreen (Jim) Troiber of Medford; a son Alan (Mary) Seefeld of Spencer; her grandchildren: Deann (Russ) Radtke of Colfax; Rob (Cheryl) Hanson of Wausau; Cory House of Medford; Julia (Jordan) Hoesley of Arcadia; David (Michelle) Seefeld of Chili and Emily (Dustin) Weiler of Arpin. Frances is further survived by her great-grandchildren: Jake and Mara Radtke and Hayden Hanson; Brett House; Elizabeth and Lindsey Hoesley, Leila and Natalie Seefeld along with other relatives and many friends.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul, a sister Ada Demuth, a brother Robert Rous and a grandson Jeffrey Hanson.
