Kevin F. Trachte
Age 60, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at his residence in Arpin.
His memorial service will be held at 1PM on Monday, June 12, 2017 at New Hope Community Church in Junction City. The Rev. Erv Volkmann will officiate. Military honors conducted by the Pittsville American Legion Post 153 will follow the services at the church. Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday at the church in Junction City from 10AM until time of services. Committal services will be held privately at a later time. Serving as his pallbearers include: John Trachte, Monte Pralle, Aaron Anderson and David Hiles. His honorary pallbearers will be: James Anderson and Mike Hiles.
Kevin was born on March 8, 1957 in Wisconsin Rapids, the son of Fredrick and Joyce (Sackhoff) Trachte. He graduated from Pittsville High School and later attended University of WI-Stevens Point. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1975 serving as a scout until his honorable discharge in 1979. Kevin married Diane Hutter in Arizona and they had two children. They later divorced. On December 31, 1993, he married the former Lynn Ohm at Pittsville Evangelical Free Church. She survives. Kevin was employed at both Pittsville Homes and Prince Corp. for a period of time. Most recently he was driving school bus for the local school kids and loved every minute of that. Kevin was kept busy at home as a blueberry farmer tending and caring for his bushes.
His memberships included New Hope Community Church in Junction City both being a member and as a Sunday school teacher. He taught Sunday school for over 20 years there and at the Pittsville Evangelical Free Church. He was also a member of The Wisconsin Berry Growers Association and Mississippi Nail Benders, a group of people offering their time and talents in building new churches around the country.
His hobbies included gardening and canning his vegetables, sharing his sense of humor and teasing abilities with family and friends, making his tasty homemade beer and delicious sausage.
Survivors include his loving wife Lynn Trachte of Arpin, his daughters: Elizabeth (Jonathan) Tuggle of Granton and Angela (Aaron) Hardesty of Marshfield; his grandchildren: Caleb, Ethan, Ayden, Dillon and Owen; his mother Joyce Trachte of Arpin; two sisters: Robin (Mike) Hiles of Wisconsin Rapids and Renn (Jim) Anderson of Arpin; one brother John (Amanda) Trachte of Panama City, FL; his Boston Terrier “Tessa” along with many other relatives and friends.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father Fredrick Trachte and his Boston Terrier “LeRoy”
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kevin’s name are being accepted to either New Hope Community Church in Junction City or Gospel for Asia, 1116 St. Thomas Way, Wills Point TX 75169.
