Robert Edward Dekarske was born on May 20, 1938 the son of Albert and Vila (Schoeder) Dekarske. He attended school at Colby. Robert was united in marriage to Marilee Nipko on November 20, 1965 at Colby Methodist Church. They dairy farmed in rural Spencer which was Robert’s favorite past time. After retiring from dairy farming Robert enjoyed hauling cattle for many years and working in the woods.
Robert had a strong faith in God and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield. He especially appreciated the many visits made by the church laymen to give him communion. He loved to go to local horse pulls and was a member of the Wisconsin Horse Pulling Association. To Robert a stranger was a friend that he had not met before. He enjoyed anything related to farming and often talked about his years as a dairy farmer and horse pulling. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his canine companion “Squirt.”
Robert will be greatly missed by his wife of 51 years, Marilee; his five children: Chellen (Keith) Wright of Marshfield, Tom (Kellie) Dekarske of Green Bay, Jayson Dekarske of Spencer, Cherian (Jason) Portz of Marshfield and Dustin (Jessica) Dekarske of Ohio; his 12 grandchildren: Nicholas, Nathan, Zachary, Dylan, Alyssa, Kelsey, Angel, Ryker, Napoli, Jeter and Fallyn; his step-grandchild Ivan; his sister Betty (Don) Wolf of Dorchester; his brother Richard (Nancy) Dekarske of Altoona; his brother-in-law’s Jim (Patty) Nipko of Missouri and Richard (Kay) Nipko of Arizona; his sister-in-law Eileen (Grant) Smart of Wausau and his canine companion “Squirt.”
He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Vila Dekarske; his step father Salem Erickson; his mother and father-in-law Lawrence and Allegra Nipko and his canine protector and friend “Shania.”
