Obituary of James M. Andrew

James M. “Jimmer” Andrew 

Age 60, of Dorchester, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Marshfield Medical Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby.  The Rev. Peter Manickam will officiate.  Burial will follow in Colby Memorial Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday at the church from 9:30AM until time of services.  The honor of pallbearer will belong to Rick Sossaman, James Apfelbeck, Charlie Zassenhaus and Ronald Wilbur.

Jimmer was born June 26, 1957 in Marshfield, the son of Ralph and Rosie (Wucherpfennig) Andrew.  After graduating from Colby High School, he worked at various jobs including Bach Industries in Spencer, Meyer Manufacturing and for Equipment Manufacturing both Located in Dorchester.  On October 13, 1979, Jim was married to Dawn Shelley and to this union a daughter Melissa was born.  They later divorced.

For those who knew Jimmer, he was a great lover of the outdoors enjoying hunting, fishing or anything outside.  He liked going snowmobiling and was a former member of the Colby Trailblazers Snowmobile Club.  He loved people and was always willing to help out those in need, any time or anywhere. 

Survivors include his daughter Melissa (John) Cokl of Marshfield; his grandson Tylan Cokl; one sister Carol James) Quall of Mount Horeb; three brothers: Dale (Donna) Andrew of Stratford, Daniel Andrew of Loveland, CO and John (Angela) Andrew of Unity along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister Janice “Cookie” Andrew, a brother Gerald Andrew and a sister-in-law Ruth Petersen.
