Obituary of Rozalia M. Knetter
Rozalia “Rose” (Brzezinski) Knetter,
Age 95, of Edgar passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Aspirus Hospital Comfort Care of Wausau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cassel with Rev. Felix Tigoy officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday at the church in Cassel from 9am until the time of service. The honor of pallbearer belongs to Lance Knetter, Jeff Karlen, Brian Knetter, Paul Knetter, Joel Knetter and Jordan Kaiser
Rose was born on July 30, 1922, the daughter of Anton and Anna (Feltzkowski) Brzezinski in the Town of Cassel. She was united in marriage to Michael “Mike” Knetter on October 28, 1941 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cassel. Sadly, Mike passed away on February 24, 2003 after 61 years of marriage. Rose farmed alongside her husband for almost 38 years while raising their seven children whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed sewing, flower and vegetable gardening, cooking, baking sweets and playing sheepshead.
Rose will be sadly missed by her seven children: Duane (Diane) Knetter, Jane Karlen, Steve (Betty) Knetter, Allan Knetter, Tom (Maureen) Knetter, Joyce (John) Kaiser and Janice (Larry) Wendtland, all of Edgar; her 22 grandchildren: Laurie (Larry) Kramer, Dawn (Douglas) Scott, Dan (Julie) Knetter, Lance (Jennifer Jegminas) Knetter, Jeff (Jackie) Karlen, Keith Karlen, Crystal (Jeff) Berens, Brian (Amy) Knetter, Kathy Knetter, Paul Knetter, Joe Knetter, Jason (Erin Denkinger) Knetter, Peggy (Matt) Johnson, Jack (Tessa) Knetter, Pamela (Channing) Luden, Joel (Melony) Knetter, Jesse (Michelle) Knetter, Brandon (Bridget) Kaiser, Jordan (Brianna) Kaiser, Candice (Kevin) Boutelle, Erick (Nikki) Kaiser and Misti Wendtland. She is further survived by 30 great-grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and her brother Steve (Loretta) Brzezinski of Tomahawk.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mike; three grandchildren: Mike Wendtland, Rich Wendtland and Mary Knetter; her six brothers: Mike, Adam, Edward, John, Al and Anton Brzezinski and her five sisters: Bena Brodjeski, Regina Bornheimer, Martha Knetter, Anna Egner and Della Nowak.
Rose’s family would like to thank Heather and the staff at Copperleaf Assisted Living, Marathon for the loving care shown to our Mother; thank you to Bernie Stremikis of Palliative Care during Mother’s stay at Copperleaf and to all the caring doctors and staff of Wausau Aspirus Comfort Care.
In lieu of flowers memorials are being accepted by Rose’s family for a charity to be determined at a later date.
