Obituary of Clarence L. Aumann
Clarence L. Aumann,
Age 90, of Marshfield, formerly of Loyal, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Marshfield Medical Center, surrounded by his family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Spencer. Rev. Samuel Martin will officiate. Burial will follow in West Spencer Cemetery town of Sherman. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 358 of Unity. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 5PM until 8PM at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer and again on Tuesday at the church from 10AM until time of services.
Clarence was born on July 25, 1927 in Neillsville, the son of Henry and Agnes (Langreck) Aumann. He graduated in 1945 from Neillsville High School. Upon graduation he served his country in the United States Army during World War II from October 1946 until his honorable discharge in April 1948. He was united in marriage to Doris Preising on September 15, 1952. Clarence owned and operated a dairy farm.
He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and the American Legion of Unity. Clarence enjoyed playing cards, hunting, fishing, farm work and wintering in Rio Grande Valley, TX for 20 years. One of Clarence’s fondest memories was attending the Honor Flight program with fellow comrades on April 11, 2013 in Washington, DC.
Clarence is survived by his wife of 65 years, Doris; his children: Dale (Laurie) Aumann of Rudolph, Cheryl (Jeff Adler) Aumann of Marshfield, Glen (Carla) Aumann of Loyal and Vickie (Steve) Komarek of Cumberland; his brothers: Irban (Leona) Aumann of Marshfield and Henry “Shorty” (Lois) Aumann of Loyal; his sister Caroline Miller and Doreen (Pat) Mrotek; and his in laws: Rosie Aumann, Barb Preising and William (Marie) Frost. Clarence is further survived by his grandchildren Natalie (Garrick Palay) Aumann of Oak Creek and Kelsey (fiancé David Svajda) Aumann of Eau Claire and several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Jeanette (Art) Petkovsek and Clara (Paul) Ampe; his brothers Louie and Leon in infancy; his brothers-in-law: Ray Miller and Donald Preising and his in laws Gerald (Mildred) Hamus.
In lieu of flowers memorials are being accepted by Clarence’s family to a charity to be determined at a later time.
The family would like to thank Dr. Claessens and the staff at the Palliative Care Unit at Marshfield Medical Center for the kindness and wonderful care for Clarence.
