Obituary of Jared S. Armstrong

Jared S. Armstrong, age 40, of Marshfield, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 10, 2017.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30AM on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Marshfield. Rev. Eric Berns will officiate. A private committal will take place at a later time. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday at the church from 10AM until time of services. The honor of pallbearer belongs to Mike Holman, Jordan Thome, Dave Taylor and Joe Thimmesch.

Jared was born on July 6, 1977 in Cumberland, the son of Julie Armstrong and Robert Kurtzhal. He graduated from Tomahawk High School. On July 21, 2012, Jared was united in marriage to Stephanie Folz at Our Lady of Peace in Marshfield.

He was employed at Mayville Engineering Company in Neillsville. He enjoyed working on his Chevy trucks, wrenching on engines and grilling out for family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and hanging out with his friends.

Jared is survived by his wife Stephanie of Marshfield; his children: Zaylie, Charish and Alexis; his mother Julie Armstrong of Marshfield; his father Robert Kurtzhal of Rice Lake; his sister Gina (Mike) Holman of Wisconsin Rapids; his mother and father-in-law Dale and Deb Folz of Marshfield; and his sister-in-law Stacy (Brandon Westphal) Thom of Rice Lake; his nephews Jordan Thome of Wisconsin Rapids and Bentley Thom of Rice Lake.  He is further survived by his grandmother Shirley Folz of Stratford; his grandfather Norman Eckes of Marshfield and by his trusted canine “Katie”.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jared’s name are being accepted for the support of his children’s education fund.
