Ruby M. Neumann,

 

Age 93, a resident of The Waterford at Colby, formerly residing in Spencer, was called home by her Heavenly Father, on Thursday, February 22, 2018 surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.

 

Her funeral service will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer. Rev. David M. DePaoli will officiate. Following the service her earthly body will be laid to rest in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Brighton. Meal to follow at Spencer United Methodist Church, 108 Burnett St., Spencer. Family and friends are invited to gather Tuesday at the funeral home in Spencer from 9AM until the time of services. The honor of pallbearer belongs to Craig, Shane and Blake Elsinger, Ryan Decker and Jesse and Jared Neumann. Honorary pallbearers are Ronald Schuh, C.J. Hall, Kent Frome, Jordan Soyk, Camron and Elijah Schuh, Evan Frome and Austin and Lee Elsinger.

 

Ruby was born in the town of Unity, Clark County on May 3, 1924, the daughter of Lloyd and Julia (Johnson) Hebert. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Ruby graduated from Unity High School in 1942. On May 3, 1943 she and Raymond H. Neumann exchanged marriage vows at St. John’s Lutheran Church, north of Spencer. Raymond preceded her in death on October 2, 1988.

 

Her employment included Spencer State Bank and Spencer Public School as a librarian assistant. Ruby was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aide. She loved to knit, crochet, sew, read and play games with her family. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. During her residency at The Waterford at Colby she was the unofficial host, greeting and visiting with any new guest. Ruby had an amazing sense of humor, always making others smile. Her undefeated sense of humor even in the later years was enjoyed by all who met her.

 

Ruby will be greatly missed by her children: Sandra (Gerald) Smith of Spencer, Diane (Larry) Decker of Colby and Douglas (Linda) Neumann of Unity; her sisters: Arlene Will of Colby, Virgean Zahn of Spencer and Lois (Richard) Oestreich of Spencer. She is further survived be her nine grandchildren: Jesse Neumann, Jared Neumann, Sheri (Ronald) Schuh, Craig (Carmin) Elsinger, Shane (Julie) Elsinger, Blake (Kelly) Elsinger, Kim (Kent) Frome, Kristi (C.J.) Hall and Ryan (Becky) Decker and her 17 great-grandchildren: Cailee (Jordan) Soyk, Camron Schuh, Elijah Schuh, Aryiah Schuh, Morgan Elsinger, Austin Elsinger, Lee Elsinger, Amelia Elsinger, Evan Frome, Olivia Frome, Angela Esselman, Jack, Grant and Benjamin Decker, Rowan Hall and Channing Hall.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Julia, her husband Raymond, her son Jerry “Jack”, her sister Betty Boehning and her brothers Donald, Gerald, Virgil and Ward Hebert.

 

Ruby’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Waterford for their amazing kindness, caring and loving attention given to “Rubester”.
