Obituary of Violet J. Stockheimer
Violet J. “Vi” Stockheimer Age 81, of Mosinee, formerly Stratford passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at House of the Dove in Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Saint Andrew’s Catholic Church in Rozellville. Rev. Sengole Vethanayagam will be the celebrant with Rev. Eric Berns concelebrating. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer from 4PM until 8PM and on Friday at the church in Rozellville from 10AM until time of service. A Rosary service will be held on Thursday evening at the funeral home starting at 7:30PM. The honor of pallbearer will belong to Jenny Krohn, Heidi Mrozek, Justin Stockheimer, Kari Kuiper, Craig Aschenbrenner, Adam Aschenbrenner and Sara Blaskowski.
Vi was born on September 7, 1936, the daughter of John and Martha (Brzezinski) Knetter, in the Town of Cassel in Marathon County. She attended Sacred Heart Parochial School in the Town of Cassel and graduated from Edgar High School. She further attended Mid-State Technical College obtaining her certificate as a surgical technologist On May 24, 1955, Vi was united in marriage to Anthony Stockheimer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in the Town of Cassel. To this union, her three children whom she referred to as her “diamonds” were born. Sadly, Tony passed away on April 22, 2012. Among many things, Vi was best known for her 43 years of dedicated work ethic and care provided to countless patients who underwent surgery at the former Saint Joseph’s Hospital specifically in cardiac surgery as well as other surgical cases from 1962 to 2005. For many years she stood alongside gifted surgeons and support staff providing surgical support for those patients in need of surgery. Her dedication to each and every patient was well known and well respected throughout the OR.
She was a longtime member of Saint Andrew’s Catholic Church, she taught CCD for over 25 years, was on the parish council for many years and was a member of the New Testament Bible Study Group.
Her hobbies included craft work, photography, gardening and yard work. Vi loved her polka and square dancing with her dancing partner Tony. To their children, Vi and Tony instilled a great work ethic and the importance of hard work and doing the very best. She will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include her sons: Michael (Joan) Stockheimer of Marshfield & Francis (Bea) Stockheimer of Stratford; her daughter Bonny (Gary) Aschenbrenner of Stratford; her grandchildren: Jenny (Erik) Krohn of Oshkosh, Heidi (Brad) Mrozek of Stevens Point, Justin (Hailey) Stockheimer of Wisconsin Rapids, Karie (Eric) Kuiper of Franklin, Craig Aschenbrenner of Marshfield, Adam (Emily) Aschenbrenner of Marshfield & Sara (Michael) Blaskowksi of Stevens Point; her great-grandchildren: Emeric Mrozek of Stevens Point, Nora Kuiper, of Franklin, Adelynn & Emory Aschenbrenner of Marshfield and Kynlee Blaskowski of Stevens Point. Vi is further survived by her brothers: David (Cindy) Knetter of Myron, Carol Knetter of Edgar; her sisters: Darlene Regele of Marshfield, Helen Stockheimer of Marshfield, Pat (George) Weber of West Allis, Carol Knetter of Marshfield and Emily (Dennis) Kaiser of Edgar; her sister-in-law Becky Knetter and many other relatives, friends and health care co-workers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tony and two brothers Alvin and Glen Knetter. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Vi’s name are being accepted by her children to House of the Dove in Marshfield.
