Obituary of Jane M. Karlen

Jane M. Karlen, 

Age 73, of Edgar, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at her residence. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cassel with Rev. Felix Tigoy officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date. Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday at the church in Cassel from 9AM until the time of service. The honor of pallbearer belongs to Paul, Joel and Dan Knetter, Brandon Kaiser, Brian Barnett and  Hunter Karlen.

Jane was born on August 28, 1944, the daughter of Michael and Rozalia (Brzezinski) Knetter in Edgar. Her employment included owning and operating a ginseng farm, in home care and most recently buying and selling antiques. Jane loved to spend time at the beach with her grandchildren, dance, play cards and antiquing.  

She is survived by her children: Jeffory (Jackie) Karlen, Keith Karlen and Crystal (Jeff) Berens; her siblings: Duane (Diane) Knetter, Allen Knetter, Steve (Betty) Knetter, Tom (Maureen) Knetter, Joyce (John) Kaiser and Janice (Larry) Wendtland and her grandchildren: Hannah, Hunter and Olivia Karlen.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Rozalia, her nephews Michael and Rich Wendtland and her niece Mary Knetter.
