Joseph C. Micke
Age 44, of Marshfield, passed away at the House of The Dove in Marshfield on Friday, May 2, 2014 while surrounded by his family.
A Memorial service will be held at 7PM on Friday, May 16, 2014 at Life Tributes Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Spencer. Deacon Ray Draeger will officiate. Committal service will be held privately at a later date. His family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home in Spencer on Friday from 4PM until time of services. A Knights of Columbus Rosary Service will take place at 6:30PM at the funeral home.
Joseph was born September 29, 1969 in Marshfield, the son of Kristina Micke. He attended school in Owen-Withee. Following his education, Joe worked on various farms in the area and was later employed at Neillsville Foundry until 2000 when he became disabled and unable to continue working. On June 12, 2004, Joseph married Arla Newmier at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. She survives.
His hobbies included bowling, hunting, fishing and ice fishing. He loved spending time boating with his family and taking unwanted items apart for scrap. Joe was a Fourth Degree member of the John Eisen Council 1799 in Marshfield.
Survivors include his loving wife Arla Micke of Marshfield; his son Clayton Micke of Marshfield; two step-daughters: Ashley and Whitney Degenhardt of Marshfield; two grandchildren Izik and a granddaughter on the way; his mother-in-law Gloria Newmier of Stratford along with cousins, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kristina Micke; his paternal and maternal grandparents and his father-in-law, James Newmier.
The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the doctors and staff at The House of The Dove and Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital for the comfort and care they provided Joseph.
