Peggy, I’ve known you and Steve for over 20 years through your Toyota purchases from me.
I met your dad Herb as a referral, and I know he enjoyed driving his white Sienna van for many many miles. He always seemed to know what he wanted and he got it, leading to a happy life.
I know you and your family are shocked with his sudden departure from this earth, but you know that he and your mom are together once again in the place they belong.

Peggy, Patti, Pam and David my thoughts are with all of you at this time of sorrow. Your father was one of the finest men that I have had the privilege to call a friend and he will never be forgotten. I enjoyed the talks and laughs and a few beers we shared . His smile when you walked into a room was a sure sign that he enjoyed your company , he was always smiling ! We all wish we had more time to spend with our loved ones but God has his own plan and my guess is that it's time for your mom and dad to hold hands again. Peace to all , Dawn and Hank

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of such a wonderful and generous man. I have such warm memories of Herbie all throughout my childhood. Always smiling, treating us neighbor kids with a candy bar at Little Rose or letting us swim in his pool. I’ll never forget swimming at his house and he offered us a drink. He popped the bottle caps off the tall glass bottles of Pepsi and handed each of us our very own bottle to drink. We were amazed! I still have the VHS tape he gave me of George Jones because he thought I would like the music. He was full of joy and he shared it with everyone who crossed his path. Rest In Peace and say hello to my dad Herbie!

So shocked and saddened to hear about the loss of a wonderful friend a person could ever have. One of my fondness memories of Herbie was the day you walked over to my house when I was a neighbor to Peggy in Hewitt . You always took time to come over to say hello and share some laughs and of course a “cold one”! I vividly remember a nice warm sunny day we sat in the back yard at my house and I took charge of trimmimg those long bushy eyebrows of yours. Not sure how that ever came about, but as I trimmed away, we shared some great conversations. I have to say as a friend of Peggy’s you raised a wonderful daughter. She carry’s all your great traits and characteristics, especially her big heart. I will miss you dearly, but will always have those great memories to carry with me. I have never met such a unique and genuine man like you Thank you Herbie for being a friend to my family and I.

Uncle Herbie, I can’t believe you are gone. It doesn’t matter you will always be with me. All the fun I had with you growing up. Spending time with you was always special. Being a city kid being on the farm was always an adventure. Snowmobiling, baby chicks, our yearly slaughtering of a pig or chickens, helping in the garden, junebugs (BIG junebugs)!! We always had a great time. You and my dad tornado watching while Aunt Stella locked us in the root cellar. (Just to keep us safe). The jokes you liked to play, you would bet me to grab the electric fence in the barn, you’d wink I would grab it, my dad would say it’s not working, you’d wink again and my dad would grab it and ZAP he’d get the shock. I would get a dollar. Made a few bucks on that game. I can still remember your laugh. When I brought my husband to meet you, you 2 bonded like brothers. Hunting, chopping wood, your work ethic. He sincerely loved and looked up to you. Aunt Stella would yell (we know she loved us). But you just wanted us to enjoy life. I will miss you, Jeff too, but we we will never forget you. I am so happy you and Aunt Stella ate together again, please say hi to my mom. All my love Debbie (I would say your favorite niece, but I know you loved us all alike)

Grandpa,
You were the heart of our family and it is so hard to lose you. You were the best grandpa, great grandpa and overall person. So patient and kind, accepting people as they are and non-judgmental. You did so many nice things for people, always thinking of others before yourself. I don't think I ever heard you raise your voice. You didn't have a mean bone in your body. I'll always remember the endless bags of candy and venison sausage you gave us. We plan to have the kids try out the fishing poles you gave us this summer. I'll remember what a great artist you were, all the pictures of squirrels and rabbits you made. I'll remember the way you smelt when I'd hugged you. I'll always remember your humor, you could always make me laugh. I'll never forget how you tricked us grandkids into thinking your biceps were actually mice in your arms. I'll smile when I think of you in your velcro shoes, white Hanes tshirt and blue jeans. Such a simple man with the biggest heart. It made me feel so proud when you'd say I'm a hard worker with a good head on my shoulders......just like my grandpa. You were truly amazing human being and your beautiful soul now lives on in heaven. We feel an emptyness inside now that your gone, but know your in heaven with grandma now. Give her a big hug and kiss from me. We love you grandpa!

Dear Dad, Bud, Papa, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, and friend. Our hearts hurt so much without you. Your the best Dad in the whole world. The best God could have ever sent to us. I don't know what we will do without you, all I know is you would want us to go on just like Mom wanted. It will be very difficult but we will try to do that Papa. Thank you for teaching us to be kind and giving to others ,and I can never thank you enough for teaching us how to work hard and to make the best of each day. I am sure you are a beautiful Angel along with Mom and all your brothers, sisters, your Dad and Mom and friends in Heaven. Thank you for being the best Dad ever, for all you did and taught us, for always being there for us no matter what, for loving us and always being supportive. This is so hard knowing you won't be at the supper table or going many places with us it will leave a huge hole in our hearts but you are with God and Mom and everyone else now Papa. Always know you are always loved so much by all of us. Until we meet again, we love you Papa.❤
