Eva Pauline Krasselt,
Age 99, of Marshfield formerly of Spencer, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer. The Rev. David M. DePaoli will officiate. The committal service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday at the church in Spencer from 9:00AM until time of services. Acting as pallbearers for Eva will be Michael, Andrew and Travis Griepentrog, Joseph, Amanda and Elizabeth Manthe. Honorary pallbearers include the great grandchildren: Peter, Monte, Erin, Ashlee, Lukas, Reba, Travis, Alizabeth, Travis Jr., Alisya, Allison and Kameron.
Eva was born April 21, 1915 in Spencer, daughter of the late William and Renata (Hoops) Plath. She attended Spencer Public School. On November 29, 1934, Eva became the wife of Siegert Krasselt. They were married in the Parsonage of Trinity Lutheran Church. Eva and Siegert resided with his parents at their farm near Veefkind. They eventually took over the farm and Eva continued working as a farm wife and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was also known for her great cooking, especially for weddings and other gatherings. Her greatest joy was dancing waltzes and polka’s with her loving husband Siegert. Sadly, he passed away on April 10, 1983.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer and the local Homemaker’s Club.
Eva is survived by her two daughters: Patricia (Wilmer) Griepentrog of Spencer; Janice of Marshfield; four grandchildren: DuWayne (Bonnie) Griepentrog of Washington, DC; Diane (Matt) Diestler of Neillsville; Dean (Renee) Griepentrog of Marshfield and Donna Manthe of Spencer; 12 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She is further survived by one brother: William (Bonnie) Plath of Danbury, WI. along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Siegert, two sisters: Helen Fischer and Arlene Youmans and one brother Sherwood Plath.
With grateful appreciation the family would like to thank the staff of 4North/Palliative Care for the exceptional treatment that was provided to Eva during her remaining days. And also a special thanks to Ann Lyon and Earl and Darlene Cammers for the help they provided at the Marshfield Care Center.
